Senior Week (also known as Beach Week) is a week where recently graduated high school seniors in the United States, mainly from the East Coast, go to the beach to spend time with their friends. This observance typically occurs in the month of June.
During Senior Week, the graduates rent condos or hotel rooms and often participate in underage drinking, drug use, and lewd behavior. The behavior caused by the graduates is often seen as a nuisance by parents and local residents. This week is often seen as a preparation for college parties for the recent graduates. Some popular Senior Week destinations include Dewey Beach, Delaware, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Ocean City, Maryland, and Wildwood, New Jersey.
There are also several events catered to Senior Week which include Play it Safe, the Ocean City Car Show, & Dew Tour. Seniors area able to ride the bus free during senior week if they are to participate in any of the Ocean City run Play it Safe events which include volleyball, miniature golf, paint balling, and karaoke.
